My name is Nasir Sharaf. I am a maker, hacker, engineer and developer.
I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelors in mechanical engineering. Around this time I had an internship with DTE Energy. Because of that internship, I was hired by Siemens Building Technologies as an Energy Engineer where I learned a lot about controls, energy conservation, and construction. I also realized how important computers were becoming and how much untapped potential there was even in a high-tech industry like controls. So I went and got my masters in computer science from Oakland University. Most of my research was in the cybersecurity of industrial control systems.
This website is meant to be a personal space. I often find that I am told how to do things or what to do, so I want a space with total freedom to say and do as I please. Consequently, not everything on this site will be polished or complete. While I hope I might get a job opportunity or make a new contact through this site, that's not the goal and not the intended audience. Regardless, I hope you find something interesting here.
I don't believe we should reduce anyone to just a number, however sometimes numbers give context. With that disclaimer in mind, here are some numbers that might give you an idea of who I am. (I do intend to add metrics like Leetcode and Kaggle, when I've devoted some time to those.)
